I love eyeliner, not because I’m a master at applying it, but because I love the way it makes my eyes look! I love that my eyes seem bigger, I love that a winged liner can make me feel more “feminine” in a way, that putting eyeliner on my waterlines makes me feel like I’m ready to party, and I love that it makes my eyes “pop”.
Now if you have the wrong eyeliner, then none of the above mentioned is true, because then what you feel is annoyed when nothing turns out the way you wanted it to.
One eyeliner that I have come to really like is the “Eyestudio Lasting Drama” in black by Maybelline, so here is my review of this Gel Eyeliner.
Price: Around 14$
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
The eyeliner comes in a small glass jar, but it lasts really well, and it comes with a two-ended applicator, one end is a thin brush and is great at creating thin and precise lines and thicker lines as well. The thin brush is not that soft, which is why it is so good at making precise lines, and it’s something I love because I like my winged liner to be sharp and well defined.
The other end of the applicator is a sponge, which is meant for blending and smudging – for a smokey look, unfortunately, it doesn’t do that great of a job at this. It kind of just looks like I tried to remove the eyeliner and failed, it becomes flaky and patchy…
This, however, is the only thing about this eyeliner I didn’t like and seeing as how I like my eyeliner to be precise, it’s really a very small thing for me since I’d never smudge it anyway.
This is, as I said, a gel liner, and the formula is really very smooth and easy to apply and also very easy to remove, both with makeup wipes (makeup remover) and with a finger. This comes in handy if you’ve made a mistake and don’t want to start over on the whole eye, you can simply use your finger to redo the mistake without having eyeliner smudged all over your face.
I’ve used this liner both on my lid and on my waterlines, it stays really well, without transferring or smudging, on the waterlines you can see that a little bit disappears after a couple of hours, but not more than I see with any other kinds of eyeliner.
So there you have it, my review of the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner, I hope you enjoyed it, and I’d love to hear about what eyeliners you love, if you’ve tried this one and anything else you might like to talk about 😀
Lots of love, Anne
